Ways You Can Be A Volunteer Foster Home

Try short time fostering. Spring and summer are the busiest time for litters.
Maybe you are off work for the summer or the winter. You could foster for the time that year are off work. Or maybe you just have a month or two available. You could foster for that period only.

Want to see if a new pet would work in your home? Try fostering.
You have a busy life, and you want to see if a pet would fit into your home. Fostering could be a good way to introduce an animal to your family members. You would also be able to try a few pets to see which one would fit best into your household.

Need a buddy for your pet? Try fostering.
You work all day and then you have errands and kits’ activities and everything else in your busy schedule. Yo pet may need a friend for companionship while you are away.

Can’t afford the cost fo owning a pet? Try fostering.
Owning a pet is often expensive. The food, supplies, vet visits and incidentals can really add up. A pet will live for may years. If you foster, the Hiawatha Animal Humane Society supplies the monetary things you need for the animal - you supply the love and attention, accompany it to any routine vet visits and make the animal available to potential permanent adoptive families.

Want to reach your children responsibility: Have them help you foster a pet.
Teaching children to care for animals is a great way to teach them compassion and responsibility. You can do both by fostering an animal -- children can help with chores, exercise the animal, clean the litter box, groom the pet and play with the animal.

Best of all, you will be doing a wonderful service for your community!
